The Oxford Chair was handmade for professors at St Catherine's College, Oxford University and designed by Arne Jacobsen. A symbol of prestige and status; the medium-high backrest and smooth, curved shape of the veneer were crafted to invoke a sense of space and privacy. The design evolved over time into today's Oxford Classic.
