Features and functionality
The Oxford Chair was handmade for professors at St Catherine's College, Oxford University and designed by Arne Jacobsen. A symbol of prestige and status; the low back and smooth, curved shape of the veneer were crafted to invoke a sense of space and privacy. The design evolved over time into today's Oxford Classic.

Materials and construction
Oxford Classic 3271C reflects the scale and dimensions of the original low-back chair that Arne Jacobsen designed for the meeting rooms of St Catherine's College. The armrests create an elegant visual contrast with the curve of the chair. They have evolved over the years; becoming the metal version used today.
