. | Alongside Sonora and Atollo, Pascal perfectly describes Vico Magistretti's design aesthetics: very pure geometric shapes, joined together to create functional and symbolic compositions. |
. | In Pascal, the cone is enhanced by repetition. At the end of the rod, supported by the Pietra Serena base, two inverted cones are positioned, as if balanced on each other, housing the light sources inside. |
. | The use of geometry, however, does not exclusively represent an aesthetic ploy, taking on a fundamental practical reason: while the upper cone houses a halogen bulb and acts as a "luminator", the lower one houses two incandescent bulbs and transforms the inclined walls above into perfect reflectors, thus giving rise to ambient light directed downwards. |
. | The double independent igniter confirms the dual use of this lamp, making its functions autonomous. Pascal thus transforms an upward-emitting floor lamp, through duplication, into a reading lamp, without adding anything to the absoluteness of its design. |
