Vitra is a family-run design company headquartered in Birsfelden, Switzerland. Founded by Willi Fehlbaum in 1953 after a trip to the United States, to discover the chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames. Management responsibilities were subsequently entrusted to the founder's children who, following a fire that destroyed production, took advantage of the opportunity to develop a new plan for the Vitra Factory Campus. In 2012, the Fehlbaum brothers in turn transferred the management of the company to the third generation of the family, represented by Nora Fehlbaum. Vitra makes a major contribution to sustainability by avoiding following short-term trends and forgoing non-essential details. For this reason, the company sets out together with its collaborators in search of optimal solutions, placing attention on the durability and longevity of the products.

Features and functionality


Table height: 740 mm.

Electrification: when selecting “electrification on the table top”; please configure the suitable Port 120 or 180; as needed; and to order it separately with the power cable; the cable duct; electrification under the table; the distribution block; etc. At least one cable tray for Alcove Plus Desk is needed for each Port. The simplest electrification version does not require any port{ cables can be installed on the table surface between the top and the panel. You need at least a cable tray; a power strip and a power cable: these must also be ordered separately.

Materials and construction


Table top: 25mm thickness; three-layer high-density fine particle board with melamine coating and 3mm ABS edge{ or powder-coated MDF board (textured finish){ or; Still; in oak veneer (from Europe); with straight veneered edge of 2;5-3;0 mm.
