Features and functionality
The visual expression of the Ant chair is delicate and artistic; just like the curves of a musical instrument. Its elegant shape hides its remarkable strength and comfort. The three-legged Ant is inspired by simple agricultural stools created to stand securely on the uneven floors of Danish farms.

Materials and construction
Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1952; the chair is made of nine layers of pressure-molded veneer. The chair beautifully exemplifies Jacobsen's understanding of the inherent strength of raw materials; consisting of only two parts: the combined seat and backrest in pressed plywood and a tubular steel structure.
