Materials and construction

Kanji is a family of lighting fixtures that reinterprets traditional oriental portable lanterns in a contemporary key. Available as a table and suspension lamp, it comes in two shapes inspired by Chinese porcelain from the Ming period. The diffuser, in mouth-blown glass in two shades of etched white and translucent smoke, is embellished with a pleated surface decoration. A ring of LEDs runs inside the structure and magically irradiates the diffuser with light. Lamp evocative of the East, not only in shape but also in name (kanji) are the characters of Chinese origin used in Japanese writing in conjunction with the hiragana and katakana syllabaries), it is designed to live alone but in pairs, in the two shapes, amplifies its aesthetic strength.
